It's Simple!

It's simple! Sitting here beside my daughter who is quite sick with a kidney infection, plus a broken leg, she looks up at me and says, "Mom, I am tired of being sick, I don't want to be tough anymore, I don't want to be strong and grin and bare it, I am not a trooper. I just want to cry and tell you I am done - no more shots, no more hurt and pain." Well, I look up into her baby blue eyes and tell her she doesn't have to fake it, she can share her raw feelings. She can express herself with transparent honesty. It's quite simple, she was true to herself and allowed herself to express the simple truth. What are we, the adult, doing with simple truth? Can we look up to God and have a complete, honest, transparent conversation with Him? All God asks is that we be real and share our heart. How often do we mask our feelings, pretend, and end up trying to be a trooper when all God wants from us is to be real, honest, and transparent as David did in Psalms-(How long shall the wicked be exalted?, or How long O Lord will You hide Yourself? Forever?). God already knows everything about us, He even knows the number of hairs on our head. Children have a way of expressing simple thoughts and ideas. They seem to tell it like it is and even pray with such simplicity. Andrew Murray says, "prayer is so simple that even the feeblest child can pray, yet it is at the same time the highest and holiest work to which man can rise. It is fellowship with the Unseen and Most Holy One. The powers of the eternal world have been placed at its disposal."

Thanks Angie and Anne,
Elizabeth is doing much better. God still teaches us through our storms. Thank goodness He is there with us always!
