For I Know the Plans I Have for You
Do you remember that promise found in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." If you read further it says, "Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you, declares the Lord, and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile." (NIV) In context, God was saying to His people that if they will seek Him with all of their heart, though they were in a place of captivity and banishment, God will bring them back to Himself. God definately knows the plans He has for you, to prosper you and give you hope, but not until you seek Him, confess your sin, and have fellowship with Him. That is all that God really wants from us, to have fellowship with Him. He wants a relationship with Him that is not just a "give me what you got attitude," but a genuine expression of love between His child and Himself. You see, the Israelites had such a history of sinfulness, they did not even realize their separation from God. Their sin blinded them from the truth. Yes, God wants to prosper you and give you hope, but first you must confess and surrender yourself to Him with all your heart. The best part of surrender is that God will listen to you and gather you back to Himself and best of all, you will be found by Him! This is the hope I have in my Lord!

God is good. He does have plans for each person her created. He wants us to seek him out and to have a relationship with him. He knows best how to handle each thing we go through. So he knows best how to help us as we go through things. We can have peace as we go through even though we don't know what is going to happen next. But the God we serve is bigger than any problem. He knows best what we need to do. We need to follow his plans for our lives and not our own. Our lives will be better for it.

Hi Julie,
Thank you for article. God knows how to get our attention and draw us to Himself. It is in the mist of hard, difficult, trying times our hearts can truly be changed and transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. Only when we humble ourselves, begin to pray, seek God's face and turn from our wicked ways, then God will hear our call and release healing and deliverance.
Thanks for your comment Cynthia. I appreciate your comment. God is truly in control and transforming our hearts and minds.
